A maintained reference connecting sovereign investors, state-backed technology groups, energy companies and strategic institutions across the six GCC economies.
What the research currently shows
The reference is designed to prevent sovereign institutions, portfolio companies and individual project vehicles from being conflated.
Ownership and strategic sponsorship are treated as dated relationships because Gulf institutional structures and mandates can change.
Dataset methodology
Scope
Strategically significant Gulf companies, sovereign investors and public institutions represented in Gulf Business Review's permanent reference universe.
Inclusion criteria
Entities require a first-party source and either recurring archive evidence, a permanent dataset connection or explicit curated regional significance.
Exclusions and limitations
Inclusion is not a ranking by assets or political importance, and organisations without a material GCC business role are excluded.
Revision policy
The reference set is reviewed as companies, regulators and institutions gain or lose material relevance. Connected-coverage counts and latest-coverage dates update from the publication archive, while first-party reference sources remain attached to each entity record.
Reuse and attribution
Journalists, researchers and analysts may quote figures with attribution to Gulf Business Review, the dataset version and review date. For substantial republication, chart reuse or data licensing, contact editor@gulfbusinessreview.com.
